Monrovia Canyon park is a great location for a mid day picnic or hike.  Most picnic areas are shaded and perfect at any time of day.  Fireman's flat is the picnic area closest to the Nature Center.

If you are looking for an easy hike then the waterfall trail is the best choice.  With three different trail heads you can choose to hike 1.7 miles or 3/4 of a mile if you start at the trailhead behind the nature center.  At the end of the waterfall hike you will be rewarded with a perfect view of the 30 foot Monrovia Canyon falls.

If you are searching for a more challenging hike, then try the Ben Overturff trail.  This seven mile hike takes about three to five hours to complete with a 2000 foot elevation gain.

Monrovia Canyon park is located at 1200 N. Canyon Blvd in the city of Monrovia, CA.  For more information call 626-256-8282 or go to www.monroviacanyonpark.org.
