Tuolumne Meadows is the largest of all the campgrounds in the Yosemite National Forest.   It contains 304 campsites for Rvs or tent campers.  And it also contains Bears.  Although we never saw one.  Food storage is mandatory in the park and campers that attract bears can be fined up to $5000 dollars.   If the local wildlife doesn't discourage you then I would highly reccomend this campsite.  It is located at 8500 feet near the Tioga Pass.  The elevation is much higher here then in the valley floor of Yosemite which means a cooler temperature and beautiful views of the meadow.  Nearby Lyell Fork has good fishing for trout.  Reservations are accepted and you should reserve several months in advance as Yosemite is very popular. 

I usually go camping once a month but I had a little break for two months.    As August arrives it means a busy month and a perfect time to go camping.   The first adventure will happen at the start of August where we will be going to Yosemite.  Later in the month we are going to Bass Lake.  Bass lake is about 4 hours north of Los Angeles and about 1 hour north of Fresno, CA.  Ponderosa Pines surround the lake.  There are many exciting campgrounds near the Lake.  Although you do not have to camp that is what we would recommend.   There are also homes and cabins for rent at affordable prices.   Bass Lake is the next destination to add to your next camping trip!
